Fit Happens: Stay Motivated and Make Movement a Habit
Feb 20, 2025Welcome Back, UK Personal Trainer, Vivian Ajayi!
This week on The Risers Hub Podcast, we’re thrilled to welcome back Vivian Ajayi, a UK-based personal trainer specializing in one-on-one coaching, small group training, and dance. Vivian’s passion for movement and fitness is contagious, and she’s here to share her journey and top tips for staying consistent in your fitness routine.
From Movement to Motivation
Vivian’s fitness journey started young—her parents had her in dance and athletics from an early age. But as life evolved, work and responsibilities took over, and movement wasn’t as natural anymore. Like many of us, she found herself less active and not feeling her best. It wasn’t until she realized her clothes didn’t fit the way they used to that she made a decision: it was time to prioritize her health again.
Through personal training, she not only transformed physically but also discovered the mental benefits of movement. Her trainer helped her regain strength—not just in her body, but in her mindset. That experience sparked a fire in her to help others feel the same empowerment, which led her to become a trainer herself.
The Secret to Staying Committed
We’re officially past the first month of the year, and for many, this is the time when motivation starts to fade. If you’ve fallen off track, don’t worry—you’re not alone! Vivian shares her top strategies for staying committed and making fitness a lasting habit:
1️⃣ Start Small & Be Realistic – Instead of diving in with extreme goals, ease into your routine. If you know you can realistically work out twice a week, start there. Build consistency first before ramping up intensity.
2️⃣ It’s Okay to Start Again – Missed a workout? Had a rough week? That’s okay! Restart as many times as you need. Fitness is a lifelong journey, not a short-term sprint.
3️⃣ Schedule Your Workouts – Treat them like any other important appointment. Block out time in your calendar, set reminders, and show up for yourself just as you would for work or social plans.
4️⃣ Find an Accountability Partner – Having someone to check in with makes all the difference. Choose someone who shares similar goals and wants to see you succeed. Support and motivation go both ways!
5️⃣ Give Yourself Grace – Life happens! Some days will be easier than others, but consistency over time matters more than perfection.
Turning Fitness Into a Lifestyle
The key takeaway? Fitness isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about long-term habits that make you feel strong, confident, and energized. Whether it’s a structured gym routine or simply incorporating more movement into your day, the important thing is to keep going, even when motivation dips.
So, grab your water, lace up your sneakers, and start where you are. Remember, every small step forward is still progress.
